Dr Matthew Snelson is a Registered Nutritionist, an Advanced Accredited Practicing Dietitian and Vice Chancellor's Research Fellow in the Nutrition & Health Innovation Research Institute (NHIRI) at Edith Cowan University. He leads the Gut Homeostasis in Cardiometabolic Health Laboratory, where his research investigates how nutrition influences the gut microbiome, intestinal barrier function and metabolic pathways to drive inflammation in cardiometabolic disease. By combining nutritional, microbiome and translational approaches, his work aims to identify novel dietary strategies to prevent and manage chronic conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, diabetes and kidney disease.
