ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONs
ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS CLOSE Sunday 3rd August 2025 midnight (AEST).
Abstracts are invited for the Nutrition Society of Australia 49th Annual Scientific Meeting.
Abstracts are welcome in any areas of nutrition and those that complement nutrition, related to the following themes:
Nutrient Bioavailability and Mechanisms - functional foods, bioactives, molecular pathways
Diet and Disease - metabolic, cardiovascular, neurological, and other chronic diseases
Gut Health and the Microbiome
Reproductive and Paediatric Nutrition - nutrition issues unique to reproductive health (including conception/fertility, pregnancy, menopause) and children (e.g. growth, development, early feeding)
Nutrition in Older Age - including nutritional needs, challenges, and interventions
Nutrition in Priority Groups and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Populations - Indigenous health, rural/remote populations, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities
Nutrition and Mental Wellbeing
Sports Nutrition
Public Health Nutrition and Policy - population-level strategies, health promotion, and food security
Monitoring and Surveillance of Nutrition and Health - dietary assessment, biomarkers, and national surveys
Nutrition in Education Settings - early childhood, school, tertiary, and community programs
Sustainable Food Systems and Environmental Nutrition - land and water use, climate, and sustainable dietary patterns
Animal Nutrition and Translational Models - agricultural or preclinical setting

Mac Users: if you have trouble submitting your abstract, try submitting from a PC. If you are still have issues, please contact the secretariat.
Mozilla Users: the security policy in Mozilla often prevents pasting from your clipboard without using the menu commands. You can still cut and paste your abstract into the submission, but you may have to use the menu command rather than ‘control v’ shortcut.
Have your abstract open on your own computer to enable you to cut and paste it into the submission system.

Click on the link above to access the submission portal
If you don’t yet have a login for Currinda, click ‘begin here’ to set up your profile and login details.
Once logged in, select ‘submit an abstract’ and click on the abstract type you want to submit.
Read through the terms & conditions, and select the relevant category for your submission.
Enter the title of your abstract. Please type the title in sentence case (that is lowercase with only the first letter or the first word in capitals) and without any punctuation. A correctly formatted example follows: Title of my presentation for the conference
Enter the name of all authors and their organisations (affiliations) and indicate the presenting author (maximum one) by ticking the relevant box.
Type or cut and paste the text of your abstract/synopsis into the relevant field.
Preview your abstract, make any changes required, finalise your submission and return to your dashboard.
You will receive an email confirmation that your abstract has been successfully submitted. Please check your email junk file in case it has been captured there.

The Committee will review all submissions before selecting the presentations which will be included in the conference program.
All abstracts are peer-reviewed and ranked based on scientific merit.
Once the reviewing has been completed the conference organisers will notify abstract presenters of their acceptance. Specific presentation instructions will be included in the notification.

Should you wish to make any changes to your abstract after you have submitted it, please log onto your online registration dashboard. Click on the “View Submission” then “Preview/edit abstract”.
Please note you will only be able to make changes to your abstract until the submission deadline, after which any changes should be sent to Chloe Armstrong
