JENNIFER SAVENAKE

Jennifer Savenake has worked in food and nutrition policy and regulation for over 25 years. She is currently Director of Public Health Guidelines at the National Health and Medical Research Council. Jen is responsible for oversight of the development and approval of public health guidelines, including the revision of the Australian Dietary Guidelines. Other projects include a rolling review of priority nutrient reference values for Australia and New Zealan and a review of the NHMRC statement on e-cigarettes.

Prior to moving to NHMRC Jen worked in nutrition and food security in Bhutan and remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in Australia. Jen also worked in food policy and regulation for the Tasmanian Government and Food Standards Australia New Zealand.
